Exposing the Cruelty of Dog Breeding: PETA Investigations Worldwide

PETA Entity Investigations Reveal Suffering in Dog-Breeding Facilities Around the World

A recent investigation conducted by PETA entities has shed light on the cruel and inhumane conditions that dogs are subjected to in breeding facilities around the world. Regardless of the location or circumstances, the findings show that dogs are exploited and abused for the pet trade, with no such thing as an ethical or reputable breeder.

In Michigan, a PETA investigation uncovered the appalling conditions at JRT John’s Jack Russell Terriers, where dozens of Jack Russell terriers and their puppies were confined to small, barren kennels with little protection from the harsh weather. Mothers and puppies were kept in wooden boxes surrounded by urine-soaked straw, with puppies’ tails being twisted off without any pain relief.

In Virginia, a pet store employee admitted that English bulldogs were not sold with a “lifetime warranty” due to their known sinus issues, which can cause breathing difficulties. Despite these health risks, breeders continue to breed and sell these dogs for profit.

In Vietnam, PETA Asia investigators found rampant injuries and untreated illnesses at certified dog-breeding facilities, with many dogs suffering from overgrown nails, matted fur, and skin conditions due to neglect and poor care.

Similar conditions were observed in South Korea, Indonesia, China, and Kansas, where dogs were kept in filthy, cramped cages with no bedding, exercise, or companionship. The investigations also revealed the prevalence of inbreeding and genetic disorders among dogs bred for specific traits and characteristics.

The findings highlight the need for consumers to refuse to buy dogs from breeding facilities and instead consider adopting from shelters. By supporting responsible and ethical practices, we can help end the suffering of countless animals in the pet trade.
