Santa Barbara County, Calif., May 24, 2024 – C.A.R.E.4Paws, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting animals and pet families in need, hosted its third Happy Tails Celebration & Fundraiser on May 18 at the Music Academy in Montecito. The event was a huge success, raising $165,000 to support the organization’s mission of keeping pets healthy and with the people who love them.
The event, which marked C.A.R.E.4Paws’ 15th year of operation, featured delicious vegetarian food, local wines, craft beer, and the organization’s signature “meowgaritas.” Guests were entertained with guitar music, a live auction, and heartfelt testimonials from families who have benefited from C.A.R.E.4Paws’ services.
One such testimonial came from Lucia Trujillo, whose senior dog Luckie received support from C.A.R.E.4Paws while Lucia was hospitalized. Lucia expressed her gratitude, stating, “For us, C.A.R.E.4Paws is not just a strong support system, C.A.R.E.4Paws is family!”
Since 2009, C.A.R.E.4Paws has provided essential services to hundreds of thousands of low-income, senior, disabled, and unhoused community members. These services include free and low-cost wellness services, spay/neuter surgeries, and pet food distribution. The organization also supports pet families exposed to domestic violence through its Safe Haven program.
C.A.R.E.4Paws’ Executive Director, Isabelle Gullö, emphasized the importance of their work in preventing pet homelessness and improving pet family welfare. She stated, “C.A.R.E.4Paws intervenes in this crisis by ensuring that financial difficulties, lack of transportation, or language barriers don’t get in the way of animals receiving the care they need to stay healthy and with their families.”
For those who missed the event but still want to support C.A.R.E.4Paws, the organization is offering mobile clinic sponsorships and the opportunity to have their pet’s portrait featured on the clinic exterior.
