OC Animal Care to Offer Free Pet Adoptions on California Adopt-a-Pet Day this Saturday

TUSTIN, Calif. (May 30, 2024) – Exciting news for animal lovers in Southern California! In celebration of the first-ever California Adopt-a-Pet Day, OC Animal Care is stepping up to offer free adoptions and valuable resource connections this Saturday, June 1.

Thanks to the generous support from CalAnimals, ASPCA, and SFSPCA, OC Animal Care is waiving adoption fees for every adoptable animal in their care. With shelters and rescues in Southern California reaching full capacity, the need for loving homes for these animals is greater than ever. By adopting a pet for free on June 1, not only will you gain a loyal companion, but you will also be helping create space for more animals in need.

The Adopt-a-Pet Day activities include one-on-one adoption visits from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., where visitors can spend time with a specific pet they are interested in adopting. Viewing hours for ready-to-go-home dogs and cats will begin at 12 p.m., allowing visitors to walk through and meet the animals available for adoption.

In addition to free adoptions, OC Animal Care will also be hosting Resource Connections from 12 to 5 p.m. Visitors can meet kittens and their foster families during “Sittin’ with Kittens” and learn about dogs in foster care during “Foster Pooches on the Patio.” Informational booths will be set up for visitors to ask questions about dog training, grooming, volunteer opportunities, and more.
