Chihuahua Gives Birth to 11 Puppies on National Puppy Day, Looking for Forever Homes

On National Puppy Day, a rescue Chihuahua named Laugh Out Loud, or LOL for short, welcomed a litter of 11 “fat and healthy” puppies into the world. The heartwarming story unfolded at Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption in Mission, Kansas, where LOL had been taken in after being rescued from a hoarding situation in Kansas City.

The staff at Unleashed Pet Rescue were prepared for LOL to give birth, but they were shocked by the size of the litter. President Danielle Reno, who has worked with animals for years, had never seen a Chihuahua give birth to so many puppies. Despite the surprise, all of the puppies were born healthy, and LOL is doing well, being both protective and kind to her little ones.

The puppies will stay at their foster home until they are old enough to be spayed and neutered, at which point they will be put up for adoption. While two of the puppies have already found homes, the other nine puppies and LOL are still looking for forever families.
