Fosterer Sends Message to Adopter Who Returned Dog Within 48 Hours for Biting

Foster Mom Shares Disappointment After Dog Returned for Being “Aggressive” – TikTok Video Goes Viral

An unfortunate reality that animal shelters see daily is owners surrendering their pets, and one foster mom recently took to TikTok to share her disappointment after a dog she was fostering was returned within 48 hours for alleged aggression.

The dog, named Burrito, was adopted but quickly brought back to the shelter for biting and being aggressive. However, Burrito’s foster mom, who had been caring for him for several weeks, was shocked by the news as all he had done was snuggle with her.

In a TikTok video posted on the account @bellaaaaalaaa, the foster mom showcased Burrito’s affectionate side, showing him fast asleep with his face squished up against hers. She wanted to prove to the adopters that Burrito was nothing but a snuggle bug.

The foster mom explained that she was told by the shelter that Burrito had bitten the adopter’s hand when he was being taken out of the car. Despite this, Burrito had shown no signs of aggression towards her or her family during his time in her care.

After the TikTok videos gained attention, Burrito was transferred to a long-term behavioral foster and is no longer listed for adoption by the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter.

Burrito’s story quickly went viral on TikTok, with viewers expressing their disbelief at the situation. Many commented on Burrito’s adorable behavior and questioned the adopter’s decision to return him so quickly.

This story serves as a reminder of the commitment required when adopting a pet and the importance of giving them time to adjust to their new environment. Animals, like humans, need love, patience, and understanding as they transition to their forever homes.
