Local Business and Three Individuals Indicted for Theft and Animal Cruelty in Miamisburg
The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Wednesday that three individuals and a local business have been indicted on multiple charges related to stealing thousands of dollars from customers and animal cruelty in Miamisburg.
Jason Jones, 44, of Huber Heights, Tabatha Taverna, 47, of Dayton, and Jennifer Long, 39, of Huber Heights are facing warrants for their arrest in connection to the case.
Jones owned and operated Dayton Dog Trainer, LLC, a business that claimed to provide obedience training for dogs and support animals. However, victims were charged exorbitant amounts of money for training services that were never delivered as promised.
Instead, pets were returned to their owners untrained, covered in feces, and showing signs of neglect and maltreatment. An investigation by the Miamisburg Police Department revealed that over 65 victims collectively lost more than $200,000.
Jones and Dayton Dog Trainer, LLC were indicted for engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, theft, cruelty to companion animals, and other charges. Taverna and Long also face similar charges in connection to the case.
Individuals who believe they may have been victimized by this scheme are urged to contact Det. Sgt. Jeff Muncy at 937‐847‐6612.
This shocking case of fraud and animal cruelty has left a community reeling and seeking justice for the innocent animals and their owners who were taken advantage of.
