Animal Abuse and Theft: Three Facing Over 250 Charges in Huber Heights
The shocking mistreatment of animals and alleged theft of over $200,000 has rocked the community of Huber Heights, as three individuals now face more than 250 charges in connection with the disturbing case.
According to reports from News Center 7, police arrived at a residence in Huber Heights to rescue animals that were being mistreated by the suspects. Investigators revealed that the individuals had been moving from property to property since last summer, claiming to operate a dog training business.
The heartbreaking stories of pet owners who entrusted their beloved animals to the suspects have come to light. Randy Reed shared the traumatic experience of picking up his dogs, Emmy and Baily, from Dayton Dog Trainer LLC in Brookville after they were left in deplorable conditions. Similarly, Melissa McClure was devastated to find her dog, Tater, in a severely neglected state upon retrieving him from the same facility.
Nearly 70 dog owners have reported paying a total of over $200,000 to the company, only to discover the horrific conditions their pets were subjected to. The charges filed against Jason Jones, Tabatha Taverna, Jennifer Long, and their business include numerous misdemeanors and felonies related to animal cruelty and theft.
The arrests of the suspects have brought a sense of relief to the victims, who had feared that justice would not be served. The community is encouraged to come forward if they believe they have been victimized in a similar manner.
