Title: Dog training company employees suspended for alleged mistreatment of dogs
In a shocking incident that has sparked outrage on social media, two employees of the dog training company Xavian and Pack were suspended after videos depicting them allegedly mistreating two dogs surfaced online.
The footage, shared on Instagram by user monkey_bear2, showed the trainers hitting a black Shiba Inu and forcibly pushing another dog to sit down during a photo session near Blocks 39, 40, and 41 at Telok Blangah Rise.
Xavian and Pack’s founder, Xavian Mar, took swift action in response to the incident, issuing a statement on Instagram condemning the “disgustingly inappropriate behaviour” captured in the videos. He suspended the implicated staff members and pledged to review all aspects of the company’s services to prevent future occurrences.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has also stepped in, advocating for force-free training methods and urging concerned citizens to report any negative interactions with the trainers. The SPCA emphasized that “force should never be used on animals” and stressed the importance of understanding and respecting their behavioural cues.
The incident has sparked a conversation about responsible pet ownership and the use of positive reinforcement in training. The SPCA is offering advice and resources to help educate the community on force-free training methods, which are designed to foster a loving and enriching relationship with pets.
As the investigation unfolds, the public is encouraged to reach out to the SPCA with any information or concerns regarding the mistreatment of animals. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of treating animals with care and respect, and the need to hold individuals accountable for their actions.
